Walmart has almost 1.6million associates within the US. In order to maintain smooth operation, Walmart established policies to discourage staff absences or late arrivals.
What is the Walmart Point System?
Walmart’s attendance policy includes the Walmart point system. It aims to discourage associates from being tardy or unintentionally absent.
The 2019 update brought the total number of points that an employee could earn from nine to five. An associate who has received five points could be dismissed.
Associates that do not show up to their shifts as scheduled will receive one point.
Also, employees who leave early may expect half the points, while those with unexpected absences could earn a maximum three point.

For reporting an absence or running late associates must go to OneWalmart’s website to make the necessary registrations.

Walmart Points last for how long?
Walmart associates don’t accumulate points continuously throughout their time with Walmart.
The points of each associate are reset every six month to maintain fairness, and also allow for unanticipated emergencies.
In addition, authorized absences are not counted in the points system. Walmart workers don’t have to fear about losing their jobs if they miss five shifts or more in a 6-month period.
Walmart Allows How Many Absences
The Walmart point system explains that associates receive no more than three points when they have an unexpected absence during holiday shifts.
A person who is absent from trading during the standard trading period will get one point. Walmart defines an absence as not working more than 50% of the scheduled shift.
A coworker may have up to five hours of leave before facing being fired, depending upon the reason.
Or, they could be absent from one holiday shift and two standard shifts. If they are unexpectedly absent from two holiday shifts, they will also face termination.
How Is Good Attendance Rewarded At Walmart?
Walmart has updated its attendance policy and now rewards associates with perfect attendance. It also encourages consistency in attendance.
In 2019, full-time Walmart employees and part-time Walmart employees can receive increased cash bonuses each quarter.
Workers with impeccable attendance records will be eligible to receive 25% more in their regular quarterly bonuses. Individuals with just one point may still be eligible to receive an increase bonus.
Walmart’s quarterly bonuses are based on several factors. The main factor is store performance. The year 2019 was the first year of attendance bonuses. Hourly associates were awarded almost $800 million in bonuses.
Walmart: How to Get In?
Walmart employees can clock in their shifts via the GTA Time Clock app.
Users of the GTA Time Clock App must go to their Time Clock homepage and log in to OneWalmart. For verification of their identity, users will be required to provide a unique ID and password.
After logging in, the user can simply select “Clock In”, to begin their shift. You can also select “Meal Start,” or “Meal End,” depending on whether they have already been logged in.

Walmart’s late policy relies on points. Associate that are late for shifts, or who miss the entire shift completely can receive three points. The most they can receive is five points in a six month period before they face termination from their role.
