Target gift cards allow customers to browse thousands of products both online and in-store. These make great gifts for friends and family, giving them the freedom to purchase whatever they like.
Target has stopped accepting returns for gift cards since 2022. Only physical Target gift cards bought before 10/1/20 and if otherwise required by law are accepted. You will need the original receipt to make the return. Target offers standard returns policies for gifts cards.
How can I return Target GiftCards
According to the Target website, for purchases made on or after 10/1/20, you cannot return Target GiftCards or redeem these for cash or credit, unless required by law.
For purchases before 10/1/20 physical Target GiftCards may be returned to the store if they are not used and accompanied by a receipt. However, Target eGiftCards or mobile Target GiftCards cannot all be returned.
Target’s Specialty Card Return Policy.
Target’s policy on gift cards returns states that any specialty gift cards which include entertainment, restaurant, or lottery tickets will not be eligible for return.
This means that if you purchase one of Target’s specialty gift cards including Apple, eBay and Uber gift certificates, they cannot be returned.
How can I return my American Express, Visa or MasterCard gift card?
The date you purchased the Visa, MasterCard or American Express gift cards will determine whether or not they can be returned.
You cannot return your gift certificate if the purchase was made after 10/1/20.
However, for those purchased before 10/1/20, your gift card can be returned to any Target store by bringing the original receipt of purchase.
You can return an item purchased using Target Gift cards.
Target gift card holders can make purchases using their card. They are eligible to return items as normal, and also receive a credit to that card.
