Even though most of us enjoy the occasional steak or marinated steak on the grill during the summer, I believe it's not ideal to cook steaks indoors. While I LOVE this method of cooking, there is another way to do it that is just as easy.

This is an unusual step, not common but crucial. It was something I discovered recently that made all the difference in how my stovetop steaks taste. After you have finished cooking the steak, place it on a plate and cover it with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 20 minutes. It is because most meat is muscle. This means that the muscles will contract and become tighter during cooking. You must allow the muscle in your meat to relax before cooking the steak at lower temperatures. This will ensure tender and juicy steaks. It makes a big difference if you are in a hurry. I reduced the resting time to 10 minutes.
Why Bring Steaks To Room Temperature
Before starting to cook the steaks, allow them to sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes. This will lessen the difference in temperature between the hot pan and the steak and allow for juicier, more evenly cooked steaks.
It takes longer to cook the steak at the desired temperature.
The same principle applies to grilling steaks.
