Afterpay is an internationally-based company. It operates in numerous stores throughout Australia, Canada and the United States.
Target will have an afterpay program in 2022
Afterpay can be used to pay Target in 2022. It’s not available on Target.com or Target.app in the US. Target doesn’t accept Afterpay at its stores in the US. However, Target locations in New Zealand and Australia accept Afterpay both in-store and online.
Is Target allowed to accept afterpay from the US?
Fortunately, US Target stores do accept Afterpay.
Previously, US Target stores were accepting Afterpay in-store and online. Target will now accept Afterpay payments via Target.com.com.
Unfortunately, Target has moved to other buy-now-pay-later platforms that the company allows in-store, so it no longer needs to use Afterpay in-store.
Can You Use Afterpay in Store at Target?
Afterpay can be used in Australia or New Zealand in stores at Target. Target stores will no longer be able to take Afterpay.
How Do I Use Afterpay at Target Online?
Afterpay can be used online by Target, which is a very simple procedure. You can do so by using the Afterpay app, or by using the Afterpay card you can receive through the app.
After shopping at Target, you can proceed to checkout and use Afterpay online. After you’ve completed shopping, click on Afterpay and choose it as the payment method.
If you have the Afterpay card, you don’t have to log in to your account or go through any other steps. Instead, you pay using the card as any other credit/debit card.
You must login or create an Afterpay account if the app is being used as your payment method.
If you already own an Afterpay Account, you can simply log in through the app or Afterpay.com.
Logging in will allow you to finish your transaction.
Afterpay does not require you to have an account.
Target will prompt you during check-out to assist you in creating an Afterpay account.
All you need to do is follow the prompts that Target presents and at the end. Once you have finalized your transactions, and you don’t see any long forms, then you were approved.
To be eligible for Afterpay you need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid credit card or debit card.
A valid form of a credit or debit card does not include an Afterpay card. If you already have an active account, you can apply and get an Afterpay credit card.
To be eligible for Afterpay you will need to have another form of credit or debit card.
Another thing to note in order to qualify for Australian Afterpay is that you must currently live in Australia.
Does Target Have an Afterpay Limit?
Target does not have an Afterpay limit. The limit applies to in-store and online purchases in the US, New Zealand, and Australia.
Afterpay requires that you spend $1 minimum and a maximum amount of $1,000 to use online.
Obviously, if you are buying an item, and needing to use Afterpay, you will reach the $1 minimum for online use.
However, you should be careful, because if you exceed the $1,000 limit, you will not be able to use Afterpay when checking out.
For Afterpay to be available in stores, it is necessary to spend at least $100. Maximum spending limit remains at $1,000
You may need to pay $100 to make Afterpay available in-store.
Keep track of how much you spend and what your budget is.
However, be sure not to exceed the $1,000 cap.
Is there an item that is not available with afterpay?
Target cannot accept the following items through Afterpay
Afterpay won’t allow you to order any of the above items.
You will also need to check eligible items separately from ineligible items, if Afterpay is to be used.
The complete Target List of Ineligible Items and Services through Afterpay, as well as other Buy-Now-Pay-Later platforms, can be found here
Does Target Accept Other Buy-Now-Pay-Later Services?
Target online accepts 6 buy-now/pay-later options, plus Afterpay. These platforms include:
Afterpay Klarna, Zip, and PayPal Pay-in-4 are all only accepted on the Target app and Target.com.
In stores, however, Target only accepts Affirm and Sezzle.

Afterpay is available at Target. However, Target’s acceptance of Afterpay in its stores varies from country to country.
Afterpay is less popular in Target US because the stores have made shifts to more flexible buy-now-pay later options. US stores currently only accept Afterpay through online purchases on the Target app and Target.com.
